Cindy Gonzalez serves with Calvary Chapel La Esperanza, in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala. In early 2016, she prayed that God would show her what it looked like to honor Him as the Lord of her life. Since then, God has used different circumstances and opportunities, such as Patmos: Reality Discipleship, to teach Cindy that a true disciple is one who walks completely surrendered to Him. Cindy learned so much about her own brokenness and need for Christ to continue redeeming and restoring her life, and how He delights to accomplish that in the context of relationships. Now she gets to be a part of that in Guatemala. Cindy will have the opportunity to assist with the launch and running of The Lighthouse, a restoration discipleship home for girls who have been sexually abused or trafficked. The Lighthouse is designed to offer programs for healing, biblical training, and teaching about God's love to young ladies aging out of governmental programs. The vision is to provide a refuge where these girls can learn about the hope and love of christ and then be able to teach it to others. She will also be providing administrative support to Jeff Stone, pastor of Calvary Chapel La Esperanza and serving with the children and women's ministries as needed.
